About
Cory Tamura

Braetanette was born out of designer Cory Tamura’s love of vintage fabrics and her all-consuming desire to find the Perfect Dress.
Cory developed her skill as a seamstress by watching and learning the art from her grandmother, Lula Maude. Together they created unique, handmade dresses, carefully tailored to fit.
After living in Japan, Cory began her work with her private label, Cornichiwa. Cornichiwa’s handmade dresses were made from carefully-selected vintage fabrics and sold exclusively in prominent boutiques in Los Angeles, New York City and Tokyo.
Cory has always used her surroundings as nourishment for her craft. Her new label, Braetanette, is inspired by the beauty she finds in everything--nature, travel, art, architecture, and music. Braetanette designs are one-of-a-kind, hand sewn dresses made from rare vintage fabrics.

All pieces are made by women-owned, small businesses using dead-stock and/or vintage fabric.
